Ian Davis has joined Ferbrache & Farrell as senior associate.

Mr Davis, a Cambridge graduate who spent a decade at AFR, has had day-to-day conduct of some of the most significant sets of proceedings that have been before the Guernsey courts in the last few years.

He was ranked a Next Generation Lawyer in 2017 and 2018 by Legal 500, which described him as ‘hardworking and conscientious, one of the most diligent litigators on the island’.

‘I have worked with many of the team at Ferbrache & Farrell during my time in Guernsey and I was drawn to the firm by its high-quality legal work and strong, growing team,’ said Mr Davis.

After a degree in law from Queens’ College Cambridge, and a distinction in the legal practice course, Mr Davis trained as a solicitor (England and Wales) in London, qualifying in 2010. He moved to Guernsey the following year and obtained Higher Rights of Audience in civil proceedings (England and Wales) in 2012. In 2020 he obtained the Certificat d’Etudes Juridiques Françaises et Normandie from the Université de Caen.

‘Ian is an excellent litigator,’ said partner, Martin Jones.

‘He has a wealth of knowledge and experience in some very high-profile, publicly reported trust and fund proceedings. We are very pleased to have him on board at Ferbrache & Farrell and look forward to working with him in the coming months and years.’
