Helen McGeoch, counsel with 20 years’ experience – 15 of which as a corporate lawyer in Guernsey – has joined Ferbrache & Farrell’s corporate and commercial department.

Mrs McGeoch practices in all areas of corporate and commercial law with particular expertise in banking and finance transactions, mergers and acquisitions and commercial agreements. She is also experienced in advising on regulatory and a range of other corporate matters.

‘In a short space of time Ferbrache & Farrell has built an excellent reputation, attracting high quality clients and instructions. I worked with Gavin as well as a number of the firm’s partners and staff at the then Ozannes and so I know I will enjoy re-joining them and working with the experienced team that continues to expand,’ said Mrs McGeoch.

I aim to provide advice to clients in clear, simple, practical terms. I am looking forward to working with Gavin again and the corporate and commercial team to further develop the offering and the firm. I am also looking forward to renewing my relationships with contacts in Guernsey and the UK.’

Mrs McGeoch joined the firm from Specsavers Optical Group, where she was senior legal counsel with primary responsibility for supply chain legal support. Prior to this, she was a partner in the corporate & commercial department of Appleby in Guernsey having spent five years beforehand working with members of the Ferbrache & Farrell team at Ozannes (now Mourant).

Partner Gavin Farrell added: ‘Helen worked primarily with me at the then Ozannes practice for a number of years when she originally came to our shores. Helen’s broad experience over the last few years will be extremely valuable to the team. She is well-respected and we are delighted that she has come back to work with us again at Ferbrache & Farrell.’

Mrs McGeoch studied law at Lancaster University and qualified as an English solicitor in 2000; her career began in the corporate team at Eversheds Sutherland.
