Expertise

Private client matters

We at Ferbrache & Farrell are delighted to be able to assist in private client matters such as Guardianship Applications and Powers of Attorney. Concerning Guardianship Applications, we have extensive experience in working with our clients, with medical practitioners and with the Royal Court to ensure that these are made in a timely fashion with the minimum of inconvenience and in a cost effective way. Given the sensitive nature of the application being made, we are mindful of our clients’ needs and expectations and ensure that we make the process as simple as possible.

For Powers of Attorney, we are delighted to be able to offer this service for the drafting and execution of General Powers of Attorney and Specific Powers of Attorney and we are advanced in our preparations for the new Mental Capacity Legislation.

Ferbrache & Farrell are also delighted to assist with matters such as change of name Deed Polls, changing the name of a dwelling house, assisting with applications pursuant to the new Population Management Regime and registration of Wills (both local and non local).

Wills

Ferbrache & Farrell have many years’ experience in advising with all matters concerning Wills. Although Guernsey does benefit from the ability to have absolute freedom of testamentary disposition, there are instances where previous inheritance regimes still apply and we are very well versed with providing such assistance. Be it a simple Will of Realty or Personalty, mirror Wills or even complex matters involving work alongside tax professionals, we are well placed to be able to help.

We work closely with the Ecclesiastical Court, accountants and other professionals and we have a network of law firms across Europe and the UK who we regularly work with.
