As our regular readers will know, we are always pleased to provide updates on how HM Land Registry works.
Not only is this helpful for us in sharing processing times with our clients, but it also paints a picture generally of how busy that organisation is.
In the transaction data for July 2024, for example, we learned the following:
– 318,267 were applications for register updates compared with 284,447 in June
– 1,190,880 were applications for an official copy of a register compared with 1,045,163 in June
– 214,947 were search and hold queries (official searches) compared with 194,273 in June
– 93,549 were transactions for value compared with 89,370 in June
– 19,357 were postal applications from non-account holders compared with 17,795 in June
As we work closely with Infotrack, we are not surprised to see that they are the number one customer of HM Land Registry with 202,706 applications in July, with the second busiest customer of July submitting 33,642 applications.
Statistics out of context are not necessarily the easiest to interpret, but what is clear is that HM Land Registry remains very busy.
With this in mind, we are able to work with our clients to manage expectations and to act in their best interests at all times.
